WHAT IS GIRIH MEAN?
GIRIH IS THE PERSIAN WORD FOR “KNOT”. THEY REFER TO THE SMALLER SUBDIVIDED TRIANGULAR PIECES WITHIN THE FIVE TILES.
GIRIH tiles are a set of five tiles that were used in the creation of Islamic geometric patterns using strapwork (girih) for the decoration of buildings in Islamic architecture. They have been used since about the year 1200.
GIRIH is a group of passionate individuals finding solutions for clients and communities to make their life and work better, easier, and more inspired. We are a multidisciplinary architecture and design firm using technology, talent, and research to guide our work. The company is committed to innovation in design methodologies, sustainability, and new technologies in architecture and planning. GIRIH was founded in 2013 in Gaza City, Palestine, with over 80 active projects across the country. With twenty years of multidisciplinary experience in GIRIH team acquired through the completion of a wide range of projects including public buildings, manufacture, education facilities, commercial, residential, kids Projects, products, and sustainable projects.
